Getting started
Add your site
A brand (called a project in the API) is the unit everything hangs off: prompts, samples, competitors, integrations and analytics all belong to exactly one. Create it in the onboarding wizard, or later from All brands.
What a brand carries
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Name | The literal string matched against model answers. Get this exactly right — it is the primary matching term. |
| Domain | Used to attribute cited URLs to you, to check the beacon origin, and to line the brand up with a Search Console or Bing property. |
| Brand context | Free text describing the business. Fed to the models as context. |
| Location and geo reach | Reach is one of global, nationwide, regional or local. |
| Language | Defaults to en. |
Aliases and how matching works
Add every name people actually use — legal entity, abbreviation, old product name, the version without the suffix. Aliases are edited alongside the brand profile in the Knowledge Base, and they are matched with the same weight as the brand name itself.
Relaxed matching (the default)
Matching is case-insensitive, bounded to whole words, and expands each term into common surface variants: the possessive, the plural, and — for multi-word names — the collapsed and hyphenated forms. So a brand named Blue Fern also matches Blue Fern's, Blue Ferns, BlueFern and Blue-Fern.
Exact match only
Toggling exact match only switches to literal, case-sensitive, whole-word matching of the name and aliases with no variant expansion. Use it when your brand name is a common word and relaxed matching is picking up sentences that were never about you.
After the brand exists
- Fill in the knowledge base so answers about you are grounded in something.
- Add prompts and activate the ones you want sampled.
- Connect Search Console and install the beacon.
